STEM Youth Awareness Program
Raising awareness of science, technology, engineering and mathematics career opportunities among tomorrow’s workforce
One of Scale AI’s strategic objectives is to establish an ecosystem that positions Canada as one of the world leaders in AI. That demands a skilled workforce with advanced AI and digital intelligence knowledge.
To help meet the demand, Scale AI is investing up to $1 million in a Youth Awareness Program. The program aims to educate 12,000 young people by March 2023 about digital intelligence and various existing STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) programs through school and extracurricular activities.
Our goal is to generate interest and encourage youths to pursue university studies in one of the STEM programs. Not only will this help to enrich the Scale AI ecosystem, but it ensures the traction and retention of a diverse workforce in Canada.
To this day, Scale AI has supported 8 youth awareness programs and 30K students were exposed to STEM.
Program structure
Organizations including NPOs, Canadian educational institutions, public bodies such as school service centres, or municipalities in Canada are invited to submit projects for funding consideration under the Youth Awareness Program.
Approved projects can be reimbursed for up to 100% of eligible associated costs.
Process
Each proposed project is subjected to an objective and transparent review and evaluation process, beginning with an eligibility assessment.
